About the event

Join naturalist, author, and photographer Mike Yip for a fascinating journey into the lives of Bald Eagles.

About Mike: A chance encounter with strange, large-billed birds in 2003 ignited Mike Yip's passion for birds and bird photography. The ducks turned out to be fairly uncommon Northern Shovelers, and as Mike puts it, it rekindled an innate connection with nature that we are all born with. At the same time, his failure to successfully photograph the birds was the challenge that revived his dormant interest in photography.

As his way of educating the public and giving back to the birds, Mike has contributed many photos to the media and conservation programs, delivered over 150 PowerPoint presentations, self-published seven books, and he was a bird columnist for the North Islander magazine for 10 years.
